River's Edge Motel

This is the cleanest cutest cozy place we’ve ever stayed. Not a spec of dirt to be found. We unfortunately spent a lot of time in our room bc of the non stop downpour of rain. The ladies are all so kind and helpful and offer the best cup of coffee I’ve had in a long time. Go get the coffee from the office!! Really happy with our stay. Oh and the pictures don’t do it justice. We stayed in room 206

Great stop for a night of rest in Cherokee on the river. Cleanliness was good, no pets allowed and has it's own smoking spot outside because you can't smoke in the rooms. Quite at night no problem with noise, people were respectful at night.

Best place to stay in Cherokee, NC, period! My wife and I have stayed in multiple hotels and motels around the Cherokee area for many years. No matter where you stay you’ll see some cool wildlife, birds, even elk. We’ve never stayed ON the river before this last visit. We saw a lot of geese, ducks, a woodchuck, tons of fish, etc. The motel offers very unique views and you have a private balcony overlooking all of it over the river. We saw more animals this visit than any visit before. We left there today, 3/2/25. We already booked another full week in April as soon as we got home. Just open the screen door on the balcony and you’ll be relaxed and probably asleep just listening to that river roll.

Stayed here last year in 2024 and to our pleasure, the overall experience was even better than last year. There were no issues last year, but there were noticeable, cosmetic improvements to the room. All of the rooms overlook the very calm and relaxing, and seeing the ducks was AWESOME! Would definitely stay here again next year

Beyond pleased with this quaint picturesque motel that features a lovely balcony view along the river. Absolutely beautiful views and so peaceful. The service was excellent. The lady at the desk was so kind and helpful. The room was very clean, updated and for us the beds were very comfortable. We can’t wait to come back and spend more time in Cherokee and we will definitely be staying here. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

What a wonderful surprise the River’s Edge Motel turned out to be! We stayed here while attending the Cherokee Fair festivities and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The location was excellent — close to everything yet peaceful and relaxing. We especially loved spending time on the balcony overlooking the river, which made our stay feel extra special. The staff was fantastic — friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. We would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Cherokee!

This a neat motel and I’m sure family owned. Everyone is so friendly. The rooms are clean, simple and all you need. Spending money here on tourist industry with locally owned places to experience the culture is a bonus! The best part that I lived is my room was right on the end where you can hear rapids all night. I sleep with a fan usually but hearing the water over the rocks was BETTER!

This was a great hotel right on the river. It was so peaceful and the staff were so kind and pleasant. Patty at the front desk went above and beyond and Heather was great on the night shift. Great staff, comfortable rooms, incredible river views on the balconies. I only recommend they put a microwave in each unit. But a great hotel option in beautiful Cherokee!
